Description:

This is a book I wrote. Because I wrote it, I had to figure out what to put on the back cover to explain what it is. I tried to write a long, third-person summary that would imply how great the book is and also sound vaguely authoritative--like maybe someone who isn’t me wrote it--but I soon discovered that I’m not sneaky enough to pull it off convincingly. So I decided to just make a list of things that are in the book:

Pictures
Words
Stories about things that happened to me
Stories about things that happened to other people because of me
Eight billion dollars*
Stories about dogs
The secret to eternal happiness*

*These are lies. Perhaps I have underestimated my sneakiness!

My Thoughts:

I have never read much non-fiction or graphic novels, but there's always a first for everything. I loved her drawings, they were hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud plenty of times. Also at some points when she was talking about her depression, was very deep. Making a contrast to all the laugh out loud humor in the rest of the book. I finished this book in two days, and I wanted more so I meandered my way over to her blog. For those of you who don't know Allie started this blog which quickly began to blow up, from there she has some of her blog posts incorporated into this book. I would recommend it to anyone, a little bit of an older audience because every once in a while a swear word is thrown in. Overall, a great book to get you out of a reading slump!
